Meaning:

Leviathan (Hebrew: לִוְיָתָן, Standard Livyatan Tiberian Liwyāṯān ; "Twisted; coiled") was a Biblical sea monster referred to in the Old Testament (Psalm 74:13-14; Job 41; Isaiah 27:1). The word leviathan has become synonymous with any large sea monster or creature. In the novel Moby-Dick it refers to great whales, and in Modern Hebrew, it means simply "whale".

Welcome to Leviatan Metal Magazine, the Costarrican metal magazine created to be read by the world.

The goal of the magazine is to bring a new standard on internet publications and metal music; for years the Internet has had thousands if not millions of sites dedicated to all metal fans around the world, and their legacy helped create a stronger, broader scene that has literately reached every corner of the planet. Now is time to give metal its proper place among music and the arts, creating a magazine that publishes interviews, reviews, articles, plays videos and audio files, all in a professional environment that can only help the scene grow even more and gain respect from the other more “established” genres of music… the time for metal to be recognized as a legitimately and artistic way of playing music is coming and we hope to be part of that revolution.

A little history:

Leviatan was born back in 2005 when due to unemployment Carlos Rodríguez decided to do something useful with his college diploma and after looking for a job in the regular news papers and magazines of the capital of Costa Rica, he decided to design and publish an online magazine, so Leviatan was born in the tiny little room in his house in Rohrmoser, Pavas (where it still remains “command center”).
